Meet the champion!

After the end of the 10th Russian Team Championship, which took place in Dagomys, the ahead-of-schedule winner of the championship has been revealed. It is “Ural” from Ekaterinburg, which headed the tournament’s race almost the whole encounter. A draw with “TPS-Saransk” from Saransk was enough for the ahead-of-schedule victory.

One of the pursuers of the leader, “Economist-SGSEU-1” team from Saratov, has lost the game to “FINEK-GazPromBank” from St. Petersburg. Evgeny Alekseev (“Economist-SGSEU-1” – Russia, 2711) playing black on the 1st board has defeated Peter Svidler (“FINEK-GazPromBank” – Russia, 2746). A young grandmaster David Navara (“FINEK-GazPromBank” — Chech Republic, 2672) on the 4th board has won over Ni Hua (“Economist-SGSEU-1” — China, 2703) playing black too. On the 5th board Nikita Vitiugov (“FINEK-GazPromBank” — Russia, 2617), playing whites, has defeated Michael Roiz (“Economist-SGSEU-1” — Israel, 2659).

With equal healthy scores “Tomsk-400” from Tomsk and “Shatar-Metropol” from Ulan-Ude have defeated their competitors.

“Tomsk-400” has won over “Economist-SGSEU-2” team from Saratov. In this match scored Sergey Karjakin (”Tomsk-400” — Ukraine, 2732), Dmitry Jakovenko (“Tomsk-400” — Russia, 2711), Loek Van Wely (“Tomsk-400” – Netherlands, 2676) and Alexander Kovchan (“Economist-SGSEU-2” — Ukraine, 2513) who have defeated Alexei Iljushin (“Economist-SGSEU-2” — Russia, 2552), Alexei Kornev (“Economist-SGSEU-2” — Russia, 2544), Sergej Dyachkov (“Economist-SGSEU-2” — Russia, 2566) and Artyom Timofeev (“Tomsk-400” – Russia, 2664) respectively.
