Final straight. "Ural" breaks far away

The ninth round of Russian Team Championship took place on April 11th in Dagomys. The most resultative match was the one between “Economist-SGSEU-2” from Saratov and “64” from Moscow, where the Moscovites has won. Representatives from “64” have won 3 games out of 6: young grandmaster Ian Nepomniachtchi (“64” — Russia, 2643) with white on the 2nd board has won over Alexander Evdokimov (“Economist-SGSEU-2” — Russia, 2551); Wang Hao (“64” — China, 2684) on the 4th board has beaten Alexei Kornev (“Economist-SGSEU-2” — Russia, 2544); and Evgeny Bareev (“64” — Russia, 2677) has scored a victory over Alexander Kovchan (“Economist-SGSEU-2” – Ukraine, 2513).

The leader of the tournament “Ural” from Ekaterinburg, having conquered “ShSM”, have strengthened its 1st place in the standings.

The meeting of the nearest pursuers of “Ural” – “Economist-SGSEU-1” from Saratov and “TPS-Saransk” from Saransk – took place during this round. The match turned out to be very persistent and ended up in a draw. In a game on the 3rd board between Pavel Eljanov (“Economist-SGSEU-1” – Ukraine, 2692) and Andrei Volokitin (“TPS-Saransk” — Ukraine, 2684) white won. On the 6th board Evgeniy Najer (“TPS-Saransk” – Russia, 2627), playing white as well, has defeated Ildar Khairullin (“Economist-SGSEU-1” – Russia, 2554).

The match between “Polytechnik” from Nizhny Tagil and “FINEK-GazPromBank” from St. Petersburg has ended in a draw too.

“Tomsk-400” suffered a setback in this round again: Ruslan Ponomariov (“Spasio Swiss” – Ukraine, 2719), playing black, has defeated Alexander Morozevich (“Tomsk-400” – Russia, 2774); Denis Khismatullin (”Spasio-Swiss” — Russia, 2584) has scored a victory over Andrei Belozerov (“Tomsk-400” – Russia, 2521).
